There’s a certain danger that comes with working in the middle of a brunch town. When you have so many delectable brunch spots at your disposal, it’s easy to get carried away and let your bank account suffer the consequences.
With a never ending list of places to hit up for coffee or a cheeky snack, it’s almost impossible to walk 50m without passing an uber indie cafe.
For us, one of our all time favourites is Chez Dre. Although they fall a little bit flat in the coffee department, there’s no argument when it comes to their food.
On a shotgun lunch trip, we took a stroll to the cafe and decided to get a carb fix. We ordered the dish of the day which was coddled egg with spinach, leek and parmesan, creme fraiche and toasted baguettes, and the super tasty fruit toast.
But perhaps what makes Chez Dre one of our favourites is that they compliment their insane food menu with an interior that’s equally as impressive. Every visit, we always vibe on the hanging plantation, the lofty style layout and of course, the glass dessert cabinets that taunt even the best of devoted clean eaters.
Now that they’ve opened Bibelot around the corner, they’ve increased their number of drool-worthy cakes and added a ridiculous gelato section. Chez Dre may have just won the brunch game.
