Sunday Morning

Kristel Engagement

On the 14th of last month, my boy decided he couldn’t live without my mad rapping skills and my inherent ability to blab for days. As a result of this major life epiphany, he finally popped the question and asked me to be his wifey for lifey. Naturally, I wanted to bless his life with the greatest gift of all so I said yes.

It happened the week after my partner in crime lived the moment every girl can only dream of; an engagement surrounded by a plethora of flowers, followed by a candlelit dinner. Annie and I are literally soul sisters in life.

After a whirlwind three and a half years of dating, it was finally our moment and it was most definitely the best day of our lives. For the most part of our relationship, we always knew we would spend the rest of our lives together. But like any other couple, there were times of intense silent treatment and pointless disagreements. Despite his resistance to acknowledge that I’m always right, he fights through my stubbornness and constantly seeks peace in the form of food. What girl can say no to that?

He proposed to me at a (nearly) mountaintop while I was blissfully taking in the view and daydreaming of sweet nothings. Note that I say nearly because we had to stop a third of the way up thanks to my poor fitness form.

The moment was nothing like I’d imagined – it was everything and more. Although I hysterically hyperventilated during his then inaudible speech, I only really remember feeling like I honestly won life then and there.

Fast forward a month later and we’re now (very slowly) planning our spring wedding set for next September.

Here’s to a lifetime of love, laughter and happily ever after.
